Pile of 109 Blanket Squares

The 109 Blanket

‘ve had a bit of time off, raising a tiny human but I’m starting slowly to get my cro-yo back on and have the occasional spare half-hour to actually do some of it!

This 109 Blanket might be the thing to help me get motivated again!

Which Yarn to use for knitting or crochet?

There are so many types of yarn to choose from. If you’re just starting to learn to knit or crochet, you might find this a bit confusing…I know I did!!  I’m hoping this post will help you with which yarn to use for your next project! Whether you crochet or knit, yarn is yarn and […]

Dyeing Yarn – How I created this beautiful yarn

I decided I wanted to learn about dyeing yarn using the immersion dyeing method.  I’d seen a technique for adding different colours to get semi-solid shades. Tying up mini-hanks for practice dyeing yarn Because I was experimenting with dyeing yarn and thought it might go wrong!  I decided to wind one hank into three smaller […]

Scheepjes Whirl Shawl - Green Tea Tipple

Whirling around…

As well as continuing with my Hygge CAL, I’ve also been working on my new shawl using Scheepjes Whirl.  This week its time to show you the “Green Tea Tipple” one that I’m working on.

WIP-WIP, Cross-stitch style!

Nothing much to say, I just enjoyed this picture of my WIPs that I took last week. Oh and I’ve started “proper cross-stitch”, as if I didn’t have enough hobbies….!!!

I thought I’d give this a whirl

Scheepjes have recently released this new yarn called “Whirl”.  It comes in this giant “cake” of yarn which is 1000m long.  Easily long enough for a shawl I thought!.  The yarn is fingering weight and gradually colour-changes to make a really gentle transition between colourways. From what I’ve discovered so far, they are right about […]

Hygge CAL Week 4

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my progress on the Scheepjes Hygge CAL 2017.  I’ve been faithfully keeping up with each week and so I thought it was time for a further update.

It’s been a while…

Hello, its been a while since I’ve blogged.  I’ve been very busy with other things and I’ve also been suffering a bit with pain in my wrist (eek, too much crochet?!) so I’ve been taking it a bit easy the last week or so, giving my wrist time to heal a bit.  I’ve not been […]

Oops I did it again….

Earlier, I posted about accidentally buying yarn too gorgeous to use.  I’ve done it again…these Scheepjes Maxi BonBon yarns are gorgeous too don’t you think?  This time, I actually have a project in mind though…

The Knitamals

I live with a whole host of knitamals….more keep coming to live with us each time I see a new friend that would like to be made!  More are coming…beware!

Jo’s Journey

Another project that I have on the go at the moment is the Joy’s Journey blanket designed by Dedri over at “Look what I Made”.

Attic24’s Cosy Stripe Blanket – My way! (Part 1)

I’ve really been loving this cosy stripe blanket pattern published by Lucy at Attic24 (you can find it here! Cosy Stripe Blanket).  She has a fab tutorial on her website and in-keeping with her encouragement, I decided to create in “colours that make my heart sing”….this is what I did to create my own […]
