Earlier this week I shared some of the projects I’ve been working on in 2017. In this post I thought I’d look back at some of the tutorials I’ve shared, just in case you missed them!
It started in February, when I shared this Magic Loop technique for crocheting in the round.
In May, I shared a couple of tutorials about crochet hooks, one about the difference between “inline and tapered” hooks and one about how to choose the best crochet hook.
In July I shared my thoughts on why and how to block your knitting and crochet projects. Something I still think is important if you want to get the most out of your projects!
I also did some experiments with a colour-wheel and shared my thoughts on how to combine colours to make the best designs
After getting some soreness from too much knitting and crochet, so went off exploring some stretches which might help.
Because Knitting and Crochet aren’t enough. I also did some experimentation with dying my own yarn and shared what I learned about dying my first hank and about dyeing self-striping yarn
In August, I started my “Learn to Knit for Beginners” course. A six-lesson photo and video course, sharing what I hope to be all of the key skills needed by someone learning to Knit.
As part of my challenge to get as many people knitting as possible, and inspired by tutorial requests, I’ve created a few spin-off tutorials including:
How to make a Long Tail Cast On
This is just a sample of the tutorials from 2017 and more tutorials will be coming in 2018. If you want to see all of my tips and tutorials, you can find them here!
I hope you found them useful. If there are any that you would like to add to the 2018 list, feel free to leave a comment below! 🙂
That’s all for now!

Hello, am knitting your Gazebo Square….just love it….cast on 60 sts. but on row 10 after pfb’s, the count comes out to 64 instead of 68 sts. Is this my count mistake or in the pattern? Many, many thanks as I want it to be correct.
hello, sorry I’m not sure which pattern you are referring to? can you clarify and I’ll try to help!
Hi again, the pattern is “Gazebo Square” .. by Wei Wilkins – (Gazebo/Pavilion, the refinements of cable, eyelet, bobbles, tuck, and textured stitches).
Page 2 cast on 60 stitches….Rows 1-9, k & p..row 10 is increases of kfb 4 times. My count comes out to 64 sts. but shouldn’t there be 68? If so, where domthe extra 4 sts. go? I have done this several times and each time comes out 4 sts. short….So sorry if it’s my mistake….just can’t find it…😊
sorry Margaret I’ve never made that pattern so I’m not sure I can help.
