A completely mindless knit, I’m pleased to say that my Bullfinch Blanket is progressing well!

I’m still not 100% on gauge though. After 5 squares, it should have weighed 20.01g. I don’t have scales that weigh in part of grams, but it weighed 22g, so I’m definitely over.
I like the way it is looking though!
Its growing each day and I’ve now got 10 squares completed (only 130 to go!)

After 10 squares, according to the tips file, it should have weighed between 40 and 42g. I’m at 43g, so still slightly over.
The tips and tricks document suggests I decrease needle size to remain on gauge but I’m not sure how much 1g matters . So far I quite like the way that the transitions on the whirl are working out. The change happens roughly at the start or end of a square so I’m getting the right effect.
I’ve decided to keep on going with the 3mm needles until I get to the next weigh-point at 20 squares and see where I am vs the weight and switch it down if necessary.
I’m also going to try to keep the yarn-tails as short as possible at cast on and cast off to maximise yarn in blanket!
I’ll keep you posted on my progress but for now I’d best get back to it!
Happy Knitting!

Looking great so far!
