Hello Folks! I’m persevering with this sketchbook challenge. I have to say, on balance the pictures haven’t gone as well as Week 1.
As promised, I’m going to share the good and the bad though, so here goes!
Day 8 – “Flowers”
I decided to get my watercolours out for day 8. Unfortunately, after some frustration trying to paint some osteospermum and them looking rubbish…
I tried again with a rose…still not great, but I’m happier with it than the first attempt!
Day 9 – “Insects”
I didn’t feel very inspired by today’s prompt of insects. Some other people taking part in the challenge managed some beautiful drawings and paintings of beetles, stick insects, butterflies, etc…
All I managed was this quick sketch of what looks at first glance like a lot of miniature 6-legged reindeer….I assure you that they are ants though! haha!
Day 10 – “Something Blue”
I’m over the moon with this next picture. I decided that I fancied drawing one of my eyes. As I have blue eyes, they fit with the theme nicely! I drew it in pencil then I was brave and used a smidge of pastel to show that they really are blue! 🙂
Day 11 – “Food and Drink”
Back to mediocre again for Day 11. The prompt was “food and drink” and as I wasn’t eating anything that remotely looked nice enough to draw (spag-bol!) I decided to draw some cheese…
…then some mice got involved….
I think I’m better at sketching something that is actually in front of me to be honest. As I didn’t have any mice around (other than Freddie and he refused to sit still) I had imagine them!
Day 12 – “Artistic Alphabet”
For Day 12, we had to draw a letter…..my mischievous side got the better of me, so I drew LOTS of letters…I think they meant the alphabetic kind but still!
Day 13 – “Mandala”
For Day 13, I had to dig out Mr JoCreates’ compass to be able to draw a mandala that was at lease semi-symmetrical! I had fun making up some random flower patterns! 🙂
Day 14 – “Something beginning with “P”
Not feeling inspired today, I p.p.p.passed a p.p.p.pen to the p.p.p.penguins and they drew a self p.p.p.portrait! 🙂
